Two in-progress bibliographies: Old Georgian, Hagiography Posted: 10 Dec 2012 06:44 AM PST Two in-progress bibliographies: Old Georgian, Hagiography From Adam McCollum's blog hmmlorientalia For a little while I've been compiling bibliographic material with Zotero on 1) Old Georgian and 2) Eastern hagiography. With the hope that they might be useful to others, I've made them publicly viewable (adding and editing is restricted). Please note: neither bibliography is even nearly comprehensive, and I add new items regularly! Of course, corrections, suggestions, and additions may be sent to me by email (but for additions, please note that an item's current absence from the list does not necessarily indicate my ignorance of it; i.e. I have an ongoing mental list of things to include)... Here they are: Old Georgian and Hagiographia orientalis. As you have need, check them by browsing, searching, or using the tags, and subscribe to the feed, if you like. Share freely! |

Latin Teaching Materials at Saint Louis University Posted: 10 Dec 2012 06:02 AM PST Latin Teaching Materials at Saint Louis University The ultimate outcomes of Latin studies relate to your quality of consciousness, and to the breadth and depth of your vision. You do not even know who you are if you have no memory. If you develop your memory of and appreciation of significant realities, if you learn how to judge what is helpful and admirable and what is not, then you are being helped to becoming a greater person yourself, that unique "greater person" that you are called to be. ("Become who you are!" says Pindar.) Latinity is a significant part of the past for us. We have to know it to more fully know who we are culturally, but it also gives us a wealth of material that can help us to fashion ourselves individually. |
